This collaborative side event with Rethinking Climate, The New Global Order, Osservatorio Parigi, and other key partners focuses on empowering youth to drive impactful climate resilience through education, advocacy, and practical tools. Recognizing young people's barriers to accessing reliable climate information, we aim to equip participants with the knowledge and resources needed to counteract misinformation. Climate and Censorship: Misinformation and Digital Advocacy The session delves into the challenges posed by climate misinformation and censorship, particularly in the digital sphere. It examines how false narratives impact public perceptions and hinder societal mobilization. Participants will explore how misinformation spreads on social media and digital platforms, with real-life examples demonstrating its effect on youth climate activism and trust in institutions. Hands-on Counteraction Techniques With practical workshops and interactive activities, participants will learn fact-checking techniques and develop critical digital navigation skills, strengthening their ability to recognize misinformation and bias.
