Youth Connect: Bridging Global Knowledge on Emerging Skills and Knowledge Gaps in Green Economies

The session will be delivered in partnership with UK partners & government, Climate Youth Negotiators it will focus on identifying the essential skills marginalized young people need to contribute to green transitions and the existing knowledge gaps. Highlighting the critical role of youth in driving a just transition to a sustainable future. The session will include as well: o Showcasing research insights from University College London on young people’s views on climate education and climate anxiety with potential representation from UK Department for Education Youth focal point o ActNowFilm an international youth voices in climate change film project, run by the University of Bath Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and Cambridge Zero. The 2024 film weaves together the insights of global climate experts with the narratives and actions of young people from across the world. Telling a story of impact and agency, it demonstrates the global and interconnected nature of the climate crisis. It highlights the imperative need for ambitious climate action and calls for the official integration of young people in climate negotiations o showcasing research insights from the British Council global climate network including Azerbaijan Youth and the partnership youth programme on green skills run in Brazil, India, Mexico, Vietnam and Indonesia https://www.britishcouncil.org/climate-skills-seeds-transition
